Klean Kanteen Water Bottle

Monday, December 24, 2012

Ever since my mom got sick, out whole lifestyle has changed. We were taught that plastic was harmful and advised to use stainless steel. So i have been scouring the internet and malls for that perfect stainless steel containers and I discovered klean kanteen. I've heard of the brand for a long time but didn't really paid much attention not until I read their product description. And true enough so far, they are the only brand who provides stainless steel inside and out. Everything the water touches is stainless steel.

I ordered a 27oz loop cap from MAMAWAY. The seller was so nice to look for more stocks for me. Two days from buying it online, it arrived just in time before my mom leaves for China.

This is a wide mouth container. I think this is easier to drink from.

DIY: Bag Tags

Tuesday, December 18, 2012

It has been a long time since I wrote a post so let me make it worth your time. We recently did a trip outside Davao city. And having three kids in tow plus all the other members of the family, our bags tend to be just about anywhere. So, in order not to misplace our stuff, I did my own bag tags. It's nothing fancy. Let me start wih what I used:

  • coupon bonds
  • cutter or a pair of scissors
  • ruler
  • old magazines
  • metal notebook rings (comes in different sizes)
  • puncher

I started with some blank graphics I downloaded from "The Graphics Fairy LLC". There are others online which you can browse. I have several which I have downloaded that did not come from the graphics fairy. Feel free to browse and choose.  Once you downloaded it, you can edit it on the computer. You can either put your name, nickname, address, phone number, anything to identify that the luggage is yours. You would want some information written so that in case your luggage gets lost, they know how and where to find you. How do you edit it? Once you downloaded it, it automatically opens. If not, just look for the folder where you saved it and open it. You can click inside the box and automatically you can write anything.

Once you're done, print it out. Head out to the nearest bookshop or anywhere who specializes in paper lamination and have the whole paper laminated, yes the whole paper. It's cheaper and easier that way.

This is how it's supposed to look like after lamination.

Next, using your cutter and ruler, sliced the outer edges to take away the extra paper. Just make sure your edges are of the same length. You can use the magazine to cover your table so you won't do any damages to your furnitures.

Next start slicing in between each tags. You can use the scissor to do this. Clean out the edges so everything is of the same length.

I used the scissor to trim the edges.

If you notice, the edges are sharp. In order to avoid injuries, you can cut the edges a bit, and slowly shape it so it forms a semi circle. Or you can directly shape the pointed edges.

If you have a puncher, you can use the puncher to put a hole on one side. If not, you can use the cutter to make a diamond shape on one side. The hole will be used to insert the metal rings.

The final product as modeled by K.

Put it in the handle of your bags to prevent loss of your luggages.

My little man

Everytime I see this little man, immediately he wants to nurse. I think it's his way of saying, "I miss you mom!"
