The Pinnacle Hotel

Saturday, March 31, 2012

Recently I attended the MHO-LMP Meeting with the WHO (will make another post on that) at the Pinnacle Hotel. Sayang I don't have a view of their main entrance. Will post them as soon as I get a photo of it. It was a live-in seminar, meaning you get to stay in the hotel for one night. I used my dad's room. It was my first time to check in alone in a hotel. I'm usually with my families when going to hotels and it's usually on vacations.

Let me show you the room that I got.

the office table

bathroom. not so big but clean.

the bed (notice my victoria cooler bag and cath kidston bag)

not much of a view

spend a few minutes watching the tv
So even though the room was free, I didn't get to spend the night there. I couldn't leave my kids at home while enjoying the bed. It wouldn't be fun without my kids in the room. 'naff said!

Kate's 2nd Birthday

Thursday, March 29, 2012

We happily celebrated my daughter's 2nd birthday yesterday. Let's just say that everything was a spur of the moment so you would expect me to be panicking. hahaha I was saving for hubby's exams so I didn't actually wanna spend so much on the party. With that said, most of the decorations were DIY, like the buntings.

the invitation.  I used red stamp app on iphone. (will blog about it soon)

DIY buntings. will post soon on how we did this.

I think in any children's party, the scariest part is if no kids would come. That's has been my dilemna. But all the time I have been proven wrong:) Thank you to all the guests young and old for coming and made my daughter very happy.

Officially she is now two. Though there is the tag phrase "terrible two", K has been very active ever since she learned to walk and talk. She is our little manang. I don't think she's be terrible. I think she'd be more lovable each day.

We love you nak!

MHO-LMP Meeting with the WHO

Wednesday, March 28, 2012

Last March 26, 2012, I attended the meeting as a representative of the Mayor of Malita and the MHO of Malita held at The Pinnacle Hotel. This was also attended by other mayors, MHOs' and other officials of the Province of Davao del Sur.

This was an effort of the WHO (World Health Organization) to make the mayors more aware of the Kalusugang Pangkalahatan which is the Aquino Health Agenda in connection with achieving the Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) of 2015.

Health Services and the MDGs were presented to the mayors to support and come up with policies to achieve this MDGs. Doctors from the WHO were there to present and answer different questions. I will not  go into details with that, you can check their website at the www.who.com.

We still have a long way towards achieving these goals but with the help of the mayors, it might not be impossible to grab our objectives.

1st Women's Run For Wellness

Tuesday, March 27, 2012

Last March 23, 2012 was the celebration of Women's Day here in Malita. To start the celebration, we had our first fun run. This was organized by Ms. Jean Seekins-Bautista and sponsored by SUN Cellular. It was the first ever fun run here in our municipality.

As you can see, there's a 1.5 k and a 3k. There's a P200 registration for those who wants to have a singlet and P100 registration for those with towels only. Me and hubby registered for the P100.

The run started at around 5:30 am. I didn't get to start at the starting line. Woke up at 5:30 am. So we thought we'd just start from the house since the route would pass by the house. I didn't even get to 1.5k. Nonetheless, our objectives was to help raise money for the Women's Association of Malita and enjoy the event.

Guess who joined me and hubby for the run?

A few members of the RHU

There was also a raffle contest at the end of the run.

What we didn't expect. Emcee called hubby to pick winners.
Hope another fun run will be organized.

Cominity Health Team (CHT) Training

This was mandated by the DILG and the training was sponsored by DOH. These are community volunteers who are tasked to assist the chosen NHTS-PR (National Housing Targeting System for Poverty Reduction) families. These are the family who belong to the Q1 or families who are earning P2460 a month. These CHT's will be given 20 household/member under their wings. Simply put, they will monitor these families and advocate the health programs of the government.

M's First Swim

Wednesday, March 21, 2012

M is past 6 months-old and it's about time he gets to try out the pool. We went to Palos Verdes. It was morning so there were a few people around. In fact we were the only ones in the pool.

M didn't understand what happened at first. All he knew was that there was water everywhere.

Eventually he got used to it and felt comfortable with being wet. Had a blast!

Crayola Twistables

Monday, March 19, 2012

My daughter R is in love with crayons that every time we visit the mall, she always asked for a new one. And by the time we get home, K breaks it all into little pieces. So much for my 40 pesos.

I've been wanting to buy this type of crayons but I never got around to since it doesn't cost cheap. But having thought of it over and over again, this might be the only solution to K's breaking habits:)

And so far, after 3 days with this crayons, it has survived. no breaking pints for k. only beautiful art works by my kids:)
