This was an effort of the WHO (World Health Organization) to make the mayors more aware of the Kalusugang Pangkalahatan which is the Aquino Health Agenda in connection with achieving the Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) of 2015.
Health Services and the MDGs were presented to the mayors to support and come up with policies to achieve this MDGs. Doctors from the WHO were there to present and answer different questions. I will not go into details with that, you can check their website at the www.who.com.
We still have a long way towards achieving these goals but with the help of the mayors, it might not be impossible to grab our objectives.
It would be better if they will step into better access of health care through the health insurance. The bulk of funds should be tapped for preventative care health maintenance and maxed-out in-patient care.
ReplyDeletehi doc. There's the Aquino Health Agenda which focuses on better health insurance for those belonging to quantile 1 (families with income of less than P3000.) We have already conducted trainings for these community health team who will monitor the conditions of these families on a monthly basis.
DeleteThere is also a "no bill balance" for those NHTS-Philhealth families when they are admitted to PHIC accredited hospitals.
