Sunday Fun

Tuesday, February 28, 2012

We decided to stay in the province during the weekend. It was a relief to just relax and have fun with the kids.

Organized Jewelries

Sunday, February 26, 2012

Remember the trays I've shown you on my previous post? Well here's what I did with those trays.

This is a bit messy, but still, this is better than looking for them anywhere. Will try to hang them next time.

So what do you think?

Plates and Trays

Friday, February 24, 2012

I've been wanting to buy these kinds of trays and plates. This would keep me organized and would keep the tables clean and free from milk spillage.

Bought these at JS Gaisano for P99/kilo. Do watch out on how we used them.

Blurrrr....

Still sick!

Monday, February 20, 2012

I haven't posted as much as I wanted to. For weeks now, my cough has prompted me to stay in bed most nights. Now I have runny nose. My kids are also getting sick. Even my husband caught the virus. Hopefully we'll all be better soon.

Stingray Bangles

Saturday, February 18, 2012

So I discovered this great online shop that sells accessories. As I've said before, I am in love with jewelries more than bags. They are my first love. So when I read about this online shop from one of the blogs I follow, I just couldn't resist but look at their items. The shop is named Envy Fashion Accessories. What really caught my eyes were these stingray bangles for P1650 each.

So far I'm loving them.

What's your recent buy?

Back to Basic

Sunday, February 12, 2012

"Welcome to the Milk Mama Diaries Carnival (February). For this month, we focus on back to basics. Participants will share advices - either the best breastfeeding advice they received OR/AND the best breastfeeding advice they can give to new moms.  Please scroll down to the end of the post to see the list of carnival entries."

I have been breast-feeding my almost 6-month-old son now and there is no hint of stopping. I have received good feedbacks on how healthy he looks or how heavy he is or how smart he is for a 6-month-old baby. I am a full-time working-mom and breastfeeding him or pumping milk for him have been a blessing and a joy for me. This would never have been possible without the words of the people that have encouraged me. Yes you read it right, "people". I could never pinpoint just one person for my success.

First, my husband, Glinard, for always telling me, "sige lang, ipadede mo lang" even when I barely had milk for our son. Even with our 1st child and then our 2nd child and now our unico hijo. That has always been his words. He saw me struggling to make my milk abundant. He saw the sleepless nights I had just to pump milk. He never told me to stop but instead, encouraged me to continue.

There's Mi'ann of the Babymama.ph who was so helpful when I had breast engorgement and mastitis for the 1st time. She told me to just keep feeding my baby. I don't know how I could have survived that night of pain and fever.

There are blogs that have been so informative especially during those times when I was just starting out. Now words could ever described how grateful I am that they exist.

To the first time mom who wants to breastfeed or to mothers who are breastfeeding, keep it up. Just continue to feed your baby on demand. Whether you're a work-at-home mom, stay-at-home mom or a full-time working-mom like me, you can still give your baby the best gift you'll ever give.

When you want to increase your milk supply, there are galactagogues you can take, malunggay or fenugreek, take your pick. There's also lactation cookies that you can take and they are proven to be effective. I've been taking them myself. You can always pump every 2-3 hours for 15-20 mins to also increase milk supply.

Read, read, read and feed, feed, feed!

There is nothing impossible if you really wanna do it:)

My blessings in 2011

Saturday, February 11, 2012

There are so many things to be thankful for. Let me start off with the birth of my one and only boy, GM. Born via repeat CS at 37 weeks by ultrasound with no complications despite my ordeal before giving birth. I had Dengue Fever and Vaginal Spotting before giving birth.

R had her first taste of school. It was a month full of tears at first but eventually she loved going to school and seeing her teachers and friends.

the calm before the storm.

K was able to walk on her own. She was determined to play with her ate so she was able to walk on her own at 1 year and 2-months-old.

Before giving birth, I applied at the Rural Health Unit in Malita and got accepted.

I won an Ameda breastpump from the Manila Fashion Observer and Babymama. This is my 3rd breastpump. Isn't that nice?!

I won three 1 oz snappies bottles from mommy matters. I decided to put my chewing gums in it and it seals nicely.

Hubby had his graduation rites for his residency training. After 5 long years, he's done! Officially though, his duties ends this month.

And a lot more blessings have come my way. Thank you so much Lord for this and for everything. Looking forward to a more fruitful 2012.
