An Artsy Crafty Birthday Party

Monday, June 26, 2017

Time flew so fast really.  Nine years and counting. My little girl who is not so little now celebrated her brithday with a craft party together with a few of her friends at Yellow Hauz. It was a Sharpie-on-Fabric kind of day for them.

Thanks to Miss April San Pedro (@iamartisan of Artisan Paperie) who made it all possible. They did it on shirts, bags and pouches.

And of course, it would not be complete without a photo session.

Happy New Year!

Monday, January 2, 2017

Happy new year to everyone. Beaches were full during the holidays. Almost everyone at home is sick. We took a detour and stayed close to home. We hope you had a blast celebrating the new year.

Let me say au revoir to 2016 who has been full of surprises, disappointments, heartaches and lessons in life. Will 2017 be more difficult? Oh me oh my!

My Cacti

Wednesday, October 5, 2016

On my birthday, I don't really like to celebrate big time. I look at my day as a day when I can finally just lay down in bed without hubby getting mad. Which I did by the way.. hehehe. But before I could do so, my co-workers surprised me early in the morning by singing a birthday song PLUS these gorgeous cacti. OR I think they are.

Some cacti I planted on a soil but these were quite different so I decided to take a few hours out of the bed to plant them.

Here I have some pebbles which we bought and hand-picked based on size and color. On the side is my mother's old ashtray. Well first I had to clean the rocks which were freshly picked from the shore, and then I had to clean the plants too.

I first filled the ashtray with pebbles, then I placed the cacti on different areas. And Viola!

Here's another shot of the plants.

Celebrations

Saturday, October 1, 2016

If there's one thing we take pride of in every family, it's when we find success not only for ourselves but also for others. This was a celebration of 3 persons who passed different licensure exams: achitecture, CPA and medical technology.

This was in Jaca Resort at Matinga Pangi. We had the whole place for ourselves.

Well kids love water and as you can see they were having a great time. Spending a lot of time in their lolo's pool helped them learn to swim.

Hubby's Birthday

Let's just say he was surprised. We didn't tell him we had something prepared for him. The kids were waiting at home to surprise him. it was a good day for him.

We prepared a small feast, made him blow his candle too:)

We invited a few friends of his.

Overall, it was a good night.

First Communion

A few months ago R had her first communion. I tell you, I'm a cry mama. Whenever my kids reach a milestone, a drop a tear. It's just so good to see the kids reach their potential as they grow. I didn't went through this. I studied in a Chinese school so I didn't get to do this. And to see my kids pass it, the feeling is just overwhelming. Here's a few shots of that.

Barangay Demoloc Nutrition Month Celebration 2016

Thursday, August 4, 2016

It was an honour and a priviledge to be invited to the barangay's nutrition month celebration. It was participated by the different schools in the barangay, preparing different dishes and of course, their own take of a Tagacaulo dish. It was a very tasteful afternoon.

I was able to witness not only different styles of cooking certain dishes, but also what the natives used in the old times as their utensils. With the change and adaptation to modern living, it is great to see that their customs have been preserved.

This, I was told, is cooked salt. Yap, we have the same reaction. They just scrape salt whenever they need one. This is a great way to preserve food don't you think?

This is how they get their all natural sweetener, by pressing sugar cane (tama ba?)

Well, he just had to try it out for himself. And guess what, we brought this home with us. They offered to give it to us, but since they were using it at home, hubby decided to pay for it. Nonetheless, it was a piece of history that we wanted to take with us.

Wondered how they make puso? I did too and I saw they made a lot of these to use as a decoration.

Congratulations to the barangay council, teachers, parents and students!

SPCBE Family Day

Tuesday, December 29, 2015

Last November were the kids' Family Day in school. They were so excited to be part of the celebration and to have us there too. It was fun to see the kids enjoying although it was a very hot day. There were flag raising competition, parlor games for both the kids and the adults.

To the father of my children, my better half, my go-to-guy... Happy 9th Anniversary Pi.

Happy Birthday M!

Friday, August 14, 2015

It has been 4 wonderful years... years filled with tears, sweat and blood. I pray that you grow up to be a good man. Never forget what we taught you, always be a God-loving person. Have fun today my little man. Even when you are sick, I pray that you will enjoy your birthday. We love you very very much.

He loves chocolates!

The time when Tito I rushed him to the ER. They had to stitch it up.

It was almost 12mn and he still wanted to play.

My dear boy, do not be afraid.
No stranger can harm you.
No monster can take you.
Trust that you will be safe.
Trust that you will be loved.
For I am here, always I am here.

Children you are growing fast
Soon you won’t be beside me all the time
I wish I could stop time
And hope that you stay young for life
Worry not for problems to arise
Mommy will be here to fight with you
I just wish that even when you’re all grown up
Mommy is still your best friend for life. - anne

Happy Birthday M!
